Roadrunners basketball falls at Three Rivers

The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners (9-15,2-5 in Region 16) dropped a 100-76 game to the Three Rivers Community College Raiders in a Region 16 game on Saturday night, February 10 in Poplar Bluff. The game was also part of the Missouri Community College Athletic Conference schedule for both teams.

Three Rivers jumped out to a 25-12 lead with less than eight minutes remaining in the opening half. The Roadrunners trimmed the halftime deficit to 40-36. A three-point basket from sophomore forward Cliff Barrow brought SFCC to within three points 45-42 with less than 17 minutes remaining.

Three Rivers had the answer though stretching the lead to 58-46 with less than 13 minutes remaining. The Raiders made the necessary plays to extend their advantage and secure the important Region victory.

Barrow led SFCC in scoring and rebounds with 32 points (including six three-point shots) and eight rebounds. Freshman forward Thomas Diew contributed 11 points. Freshman guard Alex Gunnels registered a team-high four assists in the game.
