The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners continued their preseason preparation by going undefeated at the Johnson County Jamboree in Overland Park, Kansas on Saturday, Oct.22.
SFCC took on Southeastern Nebraska in their first scrimmage at the event.
"We got to play everyone in every scrimmage," said Roadrunners Head Coach Matt Brown. "It was an okay game for the first game of the day."
The Roadrunners played Allen County in their second scrimmage at the event.
"Allen County was probably the best team we played at the event," said Brown. "Dalton Gayman played pretty well in that game and finished strong around the basket. Devon Ellis shot the ball well from the perimeter. Overall, our intensity level was a lot better in that game. It was a good win for us. Allen County plays in a very good league. I think they will be a pretty good team in the Jayhawk Conference, so I was pretty happy with that. We executed better than we have all year."
In their final scrimmage of the event, SFCC took on North Central.
"We had some turnovers and a couple of bad shots in that game," said Brown. "I thought our attitude and our effort was good overall in all three games. That is what you're looking for at an event like this. We definitely got better on both ends of the floor at Johnson County. Hopefully, it will continue to carryover to our scrimmage against Missouri Valley on Thursday."
