The State Fair Community College (SFCC) men's basketball team had its first opportunity to scrimmage against other teams on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 8-9 at the Jerry Mullen Dallas Blowout. SFCC went 3-1 at the jamboree style event with two 22-minute (running clock) halves.

SFCC defeated Lee in their first scrimmage of the event in a close game. The Roadrunners fell to Panola in another close game to finish Friday at 1-1. On Saturday, SFCC defeated Barton and Eastern Arizona by double digits to close out their portion of the event.

"We were able to play 10 or 11 guys," said Roadrunners Head Coach Matt Brown. "Our defense is probably ahead of our offense right now, which is a good thing. We had two things we hoped to achieve. We wanted to be the tougher team and the better communicating team. We were able to do that in three out of four of our scrimmages. It was a good trip. We got to travel together and do some team building. We also got to play against some teams that we don't usually play."
