State Fair Community College (SFCC) sophomore guard Damaria Franklin of Chicago, Illinois has signed a National Letter of Intent to continue his academic and athletic career at Tennessee Tech University, a Division I University in Cookeville, Tennessee.

As a sophomore, Franklin leads the team in scoring with 16.5 points per game. He dishes out a team-high 3.5 assists per game and he also registers a team-high 1.4 steals per game. He is third on the team in free-throw percentage at 83.8. Franklin pulls down 5.5 rebounds per game, which places him third on the team. This season Franklin scored a season-high 30 points against Metropolitan Community College.

"Tennessee Tech has a first-year coach," said Roadrunners Head Coach Matt Brown. "The conference is very good. Damaria has the ability to score and that's something they drastically need. I think he will be a good addition to their program."

During his freshman season at SFCC, Franklin averaged 13.3 points per game, which placed him second on the team in scoring while playing in all 28 games and starting 12 for SFCC. He scored 33 points in back-to-back games against Missouri State University-West Plains and Moberly Area Community College. He pulled down four rebounds per game, which was good enough for third on team. He dished out 2.3 assists per game, which was good enough for fifth on the team.

"I am very excited for him," said Brown. "I think he'll have an opportunity to play right away and get his degree."

Franklin earned First-Team All-Region 16 as a freshman and named First-Team All-Conference in the Missouri Community College Athletic Conference.
