Roadrunners Fall on Homecoming

The Roadrunners lost 84-48 to the Moberly Area Community College Greyhounds Feb.14 at the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center. It was Homecoming for SFCC (4-21, 0-7 in Region 16).

The Greyhounds jumped out to a 28-18 advantage in the first half. Moberly closed the half on a 10-2 run to take a 38-20 lead into the locker room. The Greyhounds outscored SFCC 46-28 in the second half to secure the victory.

"Our guys played hard," said Roadrunners Head Coach Kevin Thomas. "They competed and made a lot of hustle plays. Trent Cooper gave us a lot of energy tonight with some of his hustle plays. Hopefully, at some point, we'll get over the hump and play more efficient offense."

Freshman forward Clint Robinson led in scoring with 12 points and pulled down a team-high seven rebounds. Cooper contributed nine points and dished out a team-high four assists. Freshman forward Selvedin Planincic recorded a team-high two blocked shots.

SFCC will travel to Trenton, Missouri, to take on North Central Missouri College Pirates at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 18.

"We need to make more free throws to give ourselves a chance to win some games," said Thomas.
