Roadrunners fall at nationally ranked Crowder

State Fair Community College (12-12, 3-5 in Region 16) dropped a pair of Region 16 games to sixth-ranked Crowder College in Neosho on March 26 by scores of 9-3 and 6-4.

In game one, SFCC was held to just six hits. Sophomore catcher/outfielder Zach Dillman had a double and a run scored. Sophomore outfielder/infielder Jacob McWhirter hit a home run, scored, and added an RBI. Sophomore infielder Brandon Stahlman had one RBI.

Freshman pitcher Chase Carson got the start for SFCC. Carson pitched 3 2/3 innings, gave up six runs, four which were earned on seven hits and struck out five. Freshman pitcher Jack Lawton came out of the bullpen to allow two earned runs on no hits. Freshman Garret Lampert pitched the final two innings and allowed one run on four hits and struck out four.

In game two, the SFCC offense was held to just four hits. Stahlman had a pair of hits, including a home run and three RBI. Freshman pitcher Ben Haug had a hit and scored twice. Sophomore outfielder Zeke Henson had one hit. McWhirter drove in one run.

Sophomore pitcher Andrew McLaughlin got the start for SFCC in game two. McLaughlin pitched 3 2/3 innings and allowed six runs on eight hits with two strike outs. Redshirt freshman pitcher Carson Fewell pitched 1 1/3 innings, gave up no runs with one walk. Freshman pitcher Austin Droege pitched three innings and allowed one hit, walked one, and struck out one.
