Roadrunners Baseball opens season in Texas

Feb. 11 Dallas College-North Lake at Dallas, Texas

The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners opened their season with a 12-5 victory over Dallas College-North Lake in Dallas, Texas on Friday, February 11.

Sophomore Brandon Stahlman led the Roadrunners' offensive attack with two hits and three runs scored. Sophomores Austin Warkins and Brayden McGinnis drove in three runs each.

Freshman Chase Carson got the start on the mound in his debut for the Roadrunners. Carson allowed one hit, struck out three, and walked four in five innings to pick up the victory.

Feb. 12 Dallas College-North Lake at Dallas, Texas

SFCC fell 3-2 in the opening game of a split a doubleheader against Dallas College-North Lake in Dallas, Texas on Saturday, Feb. 12. Both games of the doubleheader were seven inning contests.

Freshman Conlan Downey led the Roadrunners with a pair of hits, a run scored, and a stolen base. Sophomore Zeke Henson hit a home run. Freshman Adam Webb also drove in a run.

Sophomore Andrew McLaughlin got the start on the mound for the Roadrunners. McLaughlin gave up three runs on four hits in three innings. McLaughlin struck out six and walked six in the loss.

Feb. 12 Western Oklahoma State College

The Roadrunners lost a 6-4 game in the second game of a split doubleheader against Western Oklahoma State College on Saturday, Feb. 12 in Dallas, Texas.

Henson had a hit and two RBI. Warkins contributed a hit and a run batted in. Freshman catcher Benit Thacker recorded a double and batted in one run.

Sophomore pitcher Antonio Escano got the start for SFCC. Escano pitched five innings, allowed three runs on six hits, and struck out six.

Feb. 12 Dallas College-North Lake at Dallas, Texas

SFCC (1-3) fell in the final game of their season opening road trip to Dallas College-North Lake 12-11 on Sunday, Feb. 13 in Dallas, Texas.

The Roadrunners scored 11 runs on 13 hits. Warkins had three hits, one of which was a triple, and two RBI. Sophomore catcher/outfielder Zach Dillman also contributed three hits, including a double and a home run and five RBI. Sophomore catcher Hamilton Anderson recorded three hits, including a double and a home run, scored two runs and two RBI.

Sophomore Roy Holcomb got the start for the Roadrunners. Holcomb pitched four innings, allowed two runs on two hits, and struck out seven. Redshirt freshman Carson Fewell pitched 1.2 innings, gave up two unearned runs and struck out four. Fewell picked up the loss on the mound.
