SFCC Honors Student-Athletes at Annual All-Sports Awards Night
The State Fair Community College Athletic Department hosted its annual All-Sports Athletic Awards Night on Tuesday, May 6, at the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center.

The State Fair Community College Athletic Department hosted its annual All-Sports Athletic Awards Night on Tuesday, May 6, at the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center. The event recognized the achievements of Roadrunner and Lady Roadrunner student-athletes in competition and in the classroom during the 2024-25 academic year.
Doug Sokolowski served as the master of ceremonies, and Dr. Michael Murders, vice president of academic and student success, delivered the welcome address.
Soccer
Head coach Michael Poropat recognized Lady Roadrunners freshman Ella Smith for earning All-Region 16 First Team and Missouri Community College Athletic Conference First Team honors. Sophomore Giovanna Dantas Rocha earned Second Team All-Conference honors and will continue her career at the University of Calumet in Chicago.
Poropat also recognized Roadrunners sophomore Mosiah Bonney and freshman Nathan McCollin for earning All-Region 16 First Team and All-Conference First Team honors. Sophomore Ethan Phillips and freshman Ethan Taylor were named to the All-Conference Second Team. Bonney will transfer to the University of Houston-Victoria; Taylor to Oklahoma City University; and Phillips to Missouri Baptist University.
Cross Country and Track & Field
Head coach Brad Hagedorn presented the cross country Rowdie Awards to Emma Rinaldi and Justin Horn. Malia Rodgers earned All-Region 16 Second Team honors, and Alexis Riddle earned Third Team recognition. The Lady Roadrunners received a Team Academic Award from the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, with Academic All-American honors going to Cheyenne Evans, Riddle, Rinaldi, Rocha, Rodgers and Bethany Slovensky.
Horn earned First Team All-Region honors for the Roadrunners. Josh Schaffart earned Second Team honors, and Jess Cornick received Third Team honors. Cornick and Adam Broekemeier also earned Academic All-American honors.
In track and field, Slovensky and Bennett Mantooth earned the Rowdie Awards. Tucker Singer earned NJCAA Indoor All-American honors in the shot put, and Isaiah Waller earned All-American honors in the weight throw.
Several athletes announced their transfer plans: Singer and Waller to Missouri Southern State University, Cornick and Demarii Williams to Northwest Missouri State University, Peyton Ligon to Evangel University, and Isaac Philips and Jasper Degraffenreid to William Woods University. Journey Sander will transfer to the University of Central Missouri.
Women's Basketball
Head coach Nicole Collier presented Most Valuable Player awards to Malia Rodgers and Kayla Sullivan. Chiney Idika was named Most Improved Player. Rodgers and Sullivan earned First Team All-Region and First Team All-Conference honors. Freshmen Ellie Buscher and Shae Wright were named to the All-Region Second Team, while sophomore Madison Johnson, sophomore Kimora McClure and Buscher earned All-Conference Second Team honors.
Sullivan was also named a Third Team NJCAA All-American.
Rodgers will transfer to Truman State University; Johnson to McKendree University; McClure to New Mexico Highlands University; Nevaeh Hill to Missouri Baptist University; La'Tommas Johnson Nash to Oklahoma Panhandle State University; and Sullivan to Valparaiso University.
Men's Basketball
Assistant coach Deshon Portley presented Sam Bradford with First Team All-Region and All-Conference honors. Guard Alex Gunnels of Kansas City earned Second Team All-Region and All-Conference recognition and received the Mr. Roadrunner Award.
Spirit Squad
Head coach Dawn Macklin-Gulick presented the Roadrunner Award to Quinne VanCleve. Academic Awards went to Katelyn Crafton, Marissa Fisher, Taylor Nolke and Adeline Emmerich.
Shooting Sports
Head coach Sarah Manuel awarded Gage Young Most Improved in shotgun. The Marathon Leader Award went to Bailey Carter, and the Impact Award was presented to Mitchell O'Reilly.
In archery, John Armentrout received Most Improved, Leann Drake earned the Marathon Leader Award, and Parker Hayes received the Impact Award.
Esports
Head coach Jacob Coleman presented the Roadrunner Excellence Award to Trenton Hardy. Chloe Levasseur earned the Hype Hero Award. Hayden Asbury was named Most Improved. DJ Burns received the Swiss Army Award, and the Locked-In Award went to the Overwatch team.
Baseball
Head coach Jud Kindle presented the Pitcher of the Year Award to Nate Bartlett. The Hitter of the Year Award went to Collin Ross. Most Valuable Player honors were shared by Dayne Wimberly and Caleb Briggs. Sam Paule received the Roadrunner Way Award.
Softball
Head coach Michele Rupard presented the Offensive MVP Award to Jordan Crooks and the Defensive MVP Award to Emily Burke. The Rowdiest Roadrunner Award went to Myla Inman. Crooks was named Second Team All-Region in the outfield. Bailey Haselhorst earned Second Team All-Region honors as both an infielder and utility player.
Crooks will transfer to Park University; Haselhorst to Avila University; and Burke and Inman to William Woods University.
Closing Remarks
Athletic Director Darren Pannier closed the evening by congratulating student-athletes on their accomplishments and thanking supporters for their dedication throughout the year.
