Lady Roadrunners basketball adds new recruits

 State Fair Community College (SFCC) Lady Roadrunners Basketball Head Coach Nicole Collier has announced 13 student-athletes have signed their National Letter of Intent for the upcoming season. The group includes three returners and 10 newcomers.

The returners include 6'1 forward redshirt sophomore Quincenia Jackson, who earned First Team All-Region 16 and First Team All-Conference as a freshman. Jackson started in 19 games, averaged 17 points, nine rebounds, and shot 64% from the field before suffering a season-ending injury as a freshman.

Jaida Shipp is a 6'1 post player who started in 21 of 23 games in her freshman campaign. Shipp averaged 11 points, 8 rebounds, and shot 53% from the field, earning Second Team All-Region 16 and Second Team All-Conference honors.

Charnay Robinson is a 5'6 guard who suffered a season-ending injury in the fall. Robinson transferred to SFCC from Howard College where she averaged nine points and four rebounds per game as a freshman.

The newcomers include Madison Johnson, a 5'6 combo guard from Harrisonville High School. Johnson averaged 15 points, six rebounds, three assists, and three steals per game. As a senior, Johnson earned first team all-district. Johnson is the definition of a true student-athlete with a 4.0 grade point average throughout her high school career.

Myra Class is a 5'6 combo guard from Tipton High School. Class helped her team to a 31-1 record and won the Class 2 State Championship. Class was named the Class 2 Player of the Year as a senior. She averaged 23 points, five assists, five rebounds, and four steals per game. Class was a four-time all-district selection and three-time District Player of the Year. She earned all-conference honors four times and was a three-time Conference Player of the Year. Class was a member of the KMZU Dream Team and KMZU Player of the Year. She scored 2,520 points in her career and holds the record at Tipton High School for the most three-point field goals made with 293. She also holds the record for career assists with 526. She also played golf and volleyball during her high school career.

Briar Cox is a 5'11 forward from Tipton High School. Cox helped her team to a 31-1 record and won the Class 2 State Championship. Cox averaged 10 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, and two steals. She holds the school record at Tipton in rebounds with a total of 1,282 rebounds. Cox scored 1,392 points and registered 211 steals. She earned all-state honors three times, all-district four times, and all-conference four times. Cox was a member of the KMZU Dream Team. She also competed in volleyball, golf, and softball during her high school career.

Tanila Marshall is a 5'11 wing who is transferring to SFCC from Odessa College in Texas. Marshall averaged five points and four rebounds per game. Marshall played high school basketball at Whitney Young, where she helped her team to a 2021-2022 City Championship, Conference Championship, and Regional Championship. Marshall averaged nine points, nine rebounds, and three steals per game. Marshall recorded seven double-doubles.

Nakayla Green is a 5'5 point guard from Coca High School in Florida. Green was an Academic All-American and team most valuable player. Green averaged 11 points per game, four assists, four steals, and four rebounds.

Kayla Sullivan is a 5'10 wing who played high school basketball at Lutheran North High School in St. Louis. Sullivan averaged 14 points a game, seven rebounds, and three assists.

Violeta Rojas is a 5'9 guard from Manilva, Spain. Rojas averaged 16 points per game, five rebounds and four assists. Rojas helped her team win the Championship of Andalucia, finished first at Cordoba, third at Catalunya, fifth at Andalucia, and 10^th at the Spain Championship.

Kimora McClure is a 5'6 combo guard from Weiss High School in Pflugerville, Texas. McClure averaged 17 points and four assists per game. McClure earned first team all-district, District 12-6A Most Valuable Player, and was a member of the All-Academic Team.

Olivia Angerer is a 6'1 forward from Eugene High School. Angerer averaged 16 points and 11 rebounds. Angerer was named first-team all-conference and first team all-district. She also earned first team Central Missouri Media All-District.

Latommas Johnson-Nash is a 5'10 wing who played high school basketball at LG Pinkston High School in Dallas, Texas. Johnson-Nash averaged nine points, seven rebounds, and two steals per game. Johnson- Nash helped her team to a UIL District 13-4A Championship and a 4A Regional Final appearance. Johnson-Nash was an all-state team selection, and named to the TABC All Region Team, and TABC All-District team.

"This is large recruiting class that we believe will continue to propel State Fair forward in Region 16," said Collier. "We will have depth, length range, and athleticism in all positions; with a good mixture of experience and versatility."
