McClure Commits to IUPUI

State Fair Community College (SFCC) redshirt freshman guard Nate McClure of Houston, Texas will continue his studies and play at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis a Division I University in the Horizon League. He will join Dimitri Georgiadis at IUPUI. McClure is the fifth student-athlete to continue his academic and athletic career at a Division I University and the sixth overall from the 2019-2020 team.

"They needed someone who can really shoot the basketball," said Roadrunners Head Basketball Coach Matt Brown. "IUPUI has a new coaching staff and they were looking for someone who could help create a new culture. They are looking for hard-working, good kids, who are also good people and Nate brings all those elements. He also has three years of eligibility remaining, which is a benefit for him as well as the program. He has family in Indiana, although he is from Texas. It will be really neat for some of his family to be able to come and watch him play."

McClure helped SFCC to a 16-14 record and an appearance in the Region 16 Tournament Semifinal Round last season. He played in 29 games, starting three in his only season in Sedalia. McClure averaged 4.6 points per game, shot 36.4 percent from three-point range, and 1.6 assists.

Highlights of McClure's season included, scoring 16 points against Graceland University Junior Varsity, hitting all three of his three-point attempts against North Central Missouri College, dishing out seven assists against Iowa Western Community College and pulling down 12 rebounds against Central Methodist University Junior Varsity.
