State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners Basketball Head Coach Matt Brown has announced the addition of Caleb Bates to his 2020-2021 recruiting class. The 6' 7'' forward is the fourth newcomer to join the program this season.

"Caleb will be able to score inside for us, as well as rebound," said Brown. "He can also shoot the ball from the perimeter. He comes from a really good prep school program. He will make a big impact for us. We are excited to have him."

Bates played last season at Mt. Zion Prep in Baltimore, Maryland for Head Coach Rod Harrison. Bates played his high school basketball at Lake Shore High School in Saint Clair Shores, Michigan for Head Coach Derrick Walton Sr.

Bates was named First Team All-State once, and First-Team All-Conference three times. Bates was named the Conference Most Valuable Player and also scored 1,000 points during his high school career. He has signed his National Letter of Intent and will begin his academic and athletic career at SFCC this fall.
