Georgiadis and Lyles Announce Future Plans

State Fair Community College (SFCC) redshirt freshmen Dimitri Georgiadis of Richmond, Virginia and Trent Lyles of Sedalia have decided where they will continue their academic and athletic careers. Georgiadis will transfer to Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, a Division I University in the Horizon League. Lyles will transfer to Central Methodist University in Fayette.

The duo will become the fifth SFCC men's basketball players to transfer to four-year universities this season. Both helped the Roadrunners to a 16-14 record and an appearance in the Region 16 Tournament Semifinal Round last season.

Georgiadis led the team in offensive rebounds per game with 2.2 and averaged 5.6 total rebounds per game; third on the team. Georgaidis had a season-high 12 rebounds against Southeastern Community College in his one season at SFCC. Georgiadis also pulled down double-digit rebounds against Iowa Western Community College and Butler Community College-Kansas. He scored 3.9 points per game and knocked down 41.6% of his shots from the field.

"Dimitri will bring some physicality to the program at IUPUI," said Roadrunners Head Basketball Coach Matt Brown. "Dimitri has three years of eligibility remaining. He is a really good student and person; off of the floor, I think he can be a leader for their program. I think they needed to establish a post presence in terms of rebounding physicality. I think he brings those things right away."

Lyles redshirted his first season (2018/19) at SFCC. Last season Lyles played in 13 contests starting two after returning from an injury. Lyles averaged 1.8 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 3.2 points per game.

Lyles scored a career-high 13 points at Three Rivers Community College. He also had a solid game with six rebounds and four assists in a start against Missouri State University-West Plains, both totals were career-highs.

"Trent will have three years of eligibility remaining," said Brown. "Central Methodist is excited to have him as part of the program. He was playing really good basketball in the second half of the season after he got released by the doctor. He is a guy who can play either guard position. Trent is a really good person and I know a lot of people from this area will be excited to see him play."
