Roadrunners Add Two More to Recruiting Class

State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners Basketball Head Coach Matt Brown has announced two more additions to his 2020-2021 recruiting class. Jamar Madge of Kansas City and Lavric Mangala of Nashville, Tennessee both signed their National Letters of Intent and will begin at SFCC in the fall.

Madge is a 6'3'' guard/forward. He redshirted last season at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, a Division I University in the Horizon League. His true freshman year at Milwaukee he played in 26 games. He scored a season high nine points against Youngstown State while playing for Head Coach Pat Baldwin.

He played his high school basketball at Raytown South High School for Head Coach Aaron Ihm. He helped his team to a 25-6 record and the Missouri Class 4 State Championship game as a senior. He scored 18.6 points, pulled down 5.8 rebounds and dished out 3.2 assists per game that season. He was named a Missouri Class 4 All-State First-Team selection and a two-time First-Team All-Conference and All-District selection. Madge scored 1,300 points during his high school career.

"He brings Division I experience to our team," said Brown. "He is a player who can play a couple different positions and also brings some toughness to our team. It will also be good to have a Kansas City kid on our roster.  I saw him play in high school and thought he was really good. We are happy to have him as part of our program."

Mangala is a 6'4'' guard/forward from Nashville, Tennessee. He played last year at Beckley Prep in Beckley, West Virginia for Head Coach Cortez Brown.

Mangala was the Team Captain at Beckley. He helped his team to a 20-10 record last season. Mangala scored 23 points per contest, pulled down seven rebounds and three assists per game. He played his high school basketball at Antioch High School in Nashville, Tennessee.

"He is a player who will add some toughness and ability to score to our team next season," said Brown. "He visited campus back in September, which was fortunate for us because he came before the virus hit. He comes to us from a program that has had a lot of Division I players."

Both of these guys will fit well into our culture," said Brown. "They're both good kids who are going to work hard. They want to help us win here and transition to four-year schools."
