Short Earns Recognition

State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners Assistant Basketball Coach Adam Short was recently recognized by Silver Waves Media as one of the 50 Most Impactful Coaches in junior college men's basketball in an article written by Jake Stanbrough. Short helped the Roadrunners to a 16-14 record and an appearance in the Region 16 Tournament Semifinal round in his fifth season at SFCC.

"I work for the best boss in Coach (Matt) Brown," said Short. "He allowed me to grow as a coach every single day. I just want to continue to work and help build State Fair!"

Short has helped numerous student-athletes, including two All-Americans, continue their academic and athletic careers at both the NCAA Division I and Division II level during his tenure at State Fair.

"He helps out with recruiting, scouting opponents, scheduling, and day-to-day operations," said Brown. "He also helps with the academic piece of our program. All of these things are very important. Coach Short is a very hard-working person who really wants to move up in the profession."

Coach Short not only plays a big role in the men's basketball program, but he is an also an asset to the athletic department in general.

"I think this is an awesome tribute to Coach Short," said SFCC Athletic Director Darren Pannier. "We are very thankful that he is part of our athletic program. He leads by example and he is always ready to roll his sleeves up and go to work when I ask him to do things for our department. He does a great job of communicating and relating to our student-athletes. Coach Short does a lot of things behind the scenes to help our athletic department. I'm very proud of him for earning this recognition."
