The Lady Roadrunners played their only scrimmage of the preseason on Wednesday, Oct. 25, at Lincoln University in Jefferson City. SFCC lost to the Blue Tigers 73-65.
"It was the first time we scrimmaged against another team," said Head Coach Kevin Bucher. "We had some good performances from a couple of freshman. I was more pleased than I thought I would be. It was a back-and-forth game; we took a big lead, and then they came back and took a big lead. The game was tied with a 90 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. We made a couple of defensive mistakes and had to foul to extend the game."
Sophomore guard/forward Catie Kaifes led in scoring with 12 points. Freshman guard Jazzmyn Elston and sophomore guard Ren'Cia Rolling each contributed 11 points.
The home opener for the Lady Roadrunners will be against Shawnee Community College in the McDonald's Classic on Friday, Nov. 3, at 5:30 p.m. in the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center on the Sedalia campus.
