Love and Watson Earn All-Conference Honors

State Fair Community College (SFCC) Lady Roadrunners sophomore pitcher/first baseman Madison Love of Holts Summit and sophomore outfielder Jacki Watson of Raytown have earned more honors as voted on by the Missouri Community College Athletic Conference coaches. Love was named MCCAC All-Conference. Watson earned Honorable Mention honors. The pair led the team to a 26-24 record this season.

Love hit .357 as a sophomore, which placed her second on the team in batting average. She led the team in home runs with 12 and runs batted in with 49. Love led the team in doubles with 11 and had a team-high 55 hits.

As a pitcher, Love was solid all year. She struck out 257 batters, which placed her first on the team and third in the country. Love led the team with 16 wins and a 2.48 earned run average. She tossed 25 complete games in 26 starts during her sophomore campaign. She also threw the first no-hitter in program history this season.

"Madison was always the first to show up at practice and the last to leave," said Lady Roadrunners Head Softball Coach Lyndsey Talbot. "She would always be the one to carry the heavy equipment bag. She is an all-around great teammate and the type of kid any coach would love to have. Her contribution in the circle will be hard to replace. You don't find a kid every year who is going to strikeout almost 300 batters. She has really changed this program."

Watson had a team-high .386 batting average. She had 39 hits, seven home runs and drove in 23 runs. Watson put together a team-high .703 slugging percentage and led the team with a .488 on-base percentage.

"Jacki really came alive at the plate after missing 15 games with an injury," said Talbot. "Her injury happened right in the heart of our season. She came back from her injury and went on a tear for us offensively. She was also an important part of our outfield defense the last two years."
