The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners had three players earn All-Region 16 for the 2019 season. Freshman Aaron Collins of England earned First-Team honors as voted on by the Region 16 coaches. Collins will be the first Roadrunner to be on the All-American ballot since the resumption of the program. Sophomore Sebastian Aguero of Sedalia and sophomore Aaron Latimer of Amarillo, Texas earned Second-Team recognition.
Collins played in all 17 games for the Roadrunners starting 16. He was a big part of the back line for SFCC. He took 11 shots for the Roadrunners.
"Aaron played close to 90 minutes in every game," said Coach Jamie Beltran. "He never got beat in a one-on-one situation. He was a very important part of our defense and a big reason why we didn't give up many goals this year. We look forward to great things from him as he steps into his second season. We look forward to building our defense around him."
Aguero played and started 13 games in goal for SFCC. He compiled .95 goals-against average and made 44 saves. He had a .786 save percentage with eight wins in goal and five shutouts.
"He does everything well," said Beltran. "He is good at coming off his line and he is a good shot stopper. He can distribute the ball with his hands or his feet. In my opinion, he is the best goalkeeper in our conference and our region."
Latimer played in all 17 games starting 10. He scored three goals, which tied him for second on the team. He also contributed two assists. He had eight points, which placed him third on the team. He scored a pair of game-winning goals, which tied him for the team lead.
"Aaron really came into his own this year," said Beltran. "He has a magnet on his foot. It is amazing how he can just run with the ball and the ball just stays stuck to his foot. He is one of the best dribblers we have. He scored two amazing goals at the end of the season. He is one of those kids that will do whatever is asked of him. He did a little bit of everything and is a really coachable kid."
