Three Roadrunners Earn All-Conference

Three State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners' soccer players have earned all-conference honors in the Missouri Community College Athletic Conference. Sophomore midfielder Vasbert Ledger of Lafayette, Louisiana received first-team recognition. Sophomore goalkeeper Juan Jurkevicius of Bolivia was named to the second-team along with freshman defender Jackson Ralph of New Zealand.

"Vasbert was an integral part of how we defended and how we attacked," said SFCC Soccer Head Coach Jaime Beltran. "He was a very hard-working and dedicated player who was heart and soul of what we have done here for the last two years."

This is the second all-conference honor for Ledger. He also earned first-team all-conference honors as a freshman.

Ledger started in all 15 games as a sophomore. He finished second on the team in goals scored with six. He tied for the team lead in assists with three and ranked second on the team in points with 15. He led the Roadrunners in shots this year with 67, a team-high 30 were on goal.

Jurkevicius anchored the SFCC defense in his only season with the Roadrunners. He played and started in a team-high 13 games in goal. He recorded a .745 save percentage with 76 saves and one shutout on the season.

"Juan was a big addition for us this year in the goal," said Beltran. "He kept us in some close games and was huge for us in the Region Tournament Quarterfinal making three saves on penalty kicks and scoring a penalty kick."

Ralph started in all 15 games this season. He recorded an assist, along with nine shots, five of which were on goal.

"Jackson was our most consistent defender," said Beltran. "He helped to anchor our defense."

SFCC finished the season 5-6-4.
