Logan Horn signs with UMKC

State Fair Community College sophomore midfielder Logan Horn has decided to continue his academic and athletic career at the University of Missouri-Kansas City where he plans to major in business. Horn made his choice official on Feb. 23 in a ceremony with family and teammates in the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center.

"I think it's a great opportunity for me to improve and build my résumé," said Horn. "Hopefully, I will have the opportunity to continue to get better and gain more experience and see what happens."

Horn helped the Roadrunners to an 8-10-1 record as a sophomore. The eight wins were double the win total from the previous season. He played in 18 games as a sophomore and scored all three of his penalty kick attempts. Horn was named to the Missouri Community College Athletic Conference All-Conference second team in both of his seasons at SFCC. As a freshman, Horn played in 10 games and recorded three assists.

"Logan is a player who puts in the effort and is very coachable," said Head Coach Jaime Beltran. "I think that he can go in and compete right away. He was a very important part of what we did in the midfield. He was very crucial to our possession and distribution. Those are things that are valuable at every level. That's why I think he can do a good job at UMKC."

"I think Logan's soccer IQ and understanding of the game has gotten a lot better," said former Head Coach Eddie Horn. "His body started to mature, and these are big improvements he has made."

Logan says a few things will always stand out from his time at SFCC.

"I really enjoyed meeting all of my teammates and making new friends," said Horn. "I enjoyed being a part of this team, and my teachers were always very helpful."

"We are excited for Logan and hope he does very well at UMKC," said Beltran.
