Spirit Squad to Host Alumni Performance

Alumni of the State Fair Community College (SFCC) Spirit Squad will perform as part of the annual homecoming festivities on Feb. 16 during the basketball games against Moberly Area Community College.

The Lady Roadrunners take the court at 5:30 p.m. followed by the men's team at 7:30 p.m. The alumni Spirit Squad will perform following the current Spirit Squad's routine. Both squads will perform together at halftime of the Roadrunners game.

The performance will commemorate the 50th Anniversary of State Fair Community College.

"We have talked about having a reunion dance for several years," said SFCC Spirit Squad Head Coach Dana Page. "We thought this would be a good year to have this performance and tie it in with the 50th Anniversary of the college."

The Spirit Squad alumni will hold a stunt practice on Sunday, Jan. 27 from 1-4 p.m. inside the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center. Participants will also get together on the afternoon of Feb. 16.

"Assistant Coach Taylor Johnson is creating the dance," said Page. "We will send that out via the Internet sometime soon for participants to learn the dance on their own. We are very excited about having our alumni back on campus. We have had a very good response."

Spirit Squad alumni who are interested in participating in the performance and have not been contacted can contact Page by phone at (660) 596-7443 or at dpage1@sfccmo.edu.
