Baseball Roadrunner Kyle Clark continues at William Woods University

State Fair Community College sophomore infielder Kyle Clark of Grain Valley is headed to William Woods University in Fulton to continue his academic and athletic career. Clark helped the Roadrunners to back-to-back Region 16 sub-regional series victories last spring. As a sophomore, he helped the Roadrunners to the Region 16 tournament championship round and 35 victories, which set a school record since the program resumed in spring 2017.

"Kyle is a player who will bring a high on-base percentage to the next level," said Baseball Head Coach Jud Kindle. "He is a tough out, who takes quality at-bats. Kyle will have an opportunity to hit in the middle of the order at William Woods. Defensively, he does a good job of scooping throws. He plays his position well and has good range for a first baseman."

As a sophomore, Clark drew a team-leading 37 walks. He tied for third in homeruns with five and for third in triples with one. He knocked in 15 runs, scored 26 runs and recorded a .244 batting average.

After a productive freshman year, Clark was named Missouri Community College Athletic Conference All-Conference second-team. He drove in 48 runs, which placed him second on the team. He had a .316 batting average and a .426 slugging percentage. Clark tied for third in extra-base hits with 14 and fourth in hits with 49.
