Roadrunners Add Five for 2019-2020

State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners Baseball Head Coach Jud Kindle has announced the first five members of his 2019-2020 recruiting class. They have signed their National Letters of Intent and will begin their academic and athletic career at SFCC in the fall of 2019.

Connor Barnes is a 5'9'' pitcher from Boonville, Missouri. He plays high school baseball at Boonville High School for Head Coach Adam Arnette. Barnes is a two-time all-conference, all district, and all-state pitcher. Barnes is the brother of current Roadrunner redshirt freshman Blake Barnes.

"Connor controls three pitches extremely well," said Kindle. "He is extremely competitive on the mound and we know he is going to come in here and throw strikes for us."

Barnes plans to major in business at SFCC.

Xavier Goudeau is a 6'5" first baseman from Grandview, Missouri. He plays high school baseball at Grandview High School for Head Coach Michael Stringer. Goudeau lettered three times in baseball at Grandview and earned second-team all-conference honors as a junior.

"Xavier is a big, strong left-handed hitter," said Kindle. "He is a guy that has tremendous size and power, but is also extremely athletic."

Goudeau plans to major in general studies at SFCC.

Brady Strickert is a 6'0" pitcher/outfielder from Lee's Summit, Missouri. He plays high school baseball at Blue Springs South High School for Head Coach Ben Baier.

Strickert is a three-year letter winner in baseball, who was named second-team all-conference as a sophomore. He earned first-team all-conference, all district, and all-area as a junior.

"Brady is going to pitch and play the outfield for us," said Kindle. "He is a crafty left-handed pitcher and we definitely need more left-handed pitchers on the mound. Brady can also hit and is a pretty good outfielder."

Strickert plans to major in business at SFCC.

Dylan Thompson is a 5'10" catcher from Camdenton, Missouri. He plays high school baseball for Bryce Durnin at Camdenton High School.

Thompson earned two letters in baseball and has earned all-conference and all-district honors as well.

"Dylan is a very good defensive catcher with a very strong arm," said Kindle.

Thompson is undecided on a major at SFCC.

Dylan Watson is a 6'0" catcher from Boonville, Missouri, where he plays at Boonville High School for Head Coach Adam Arnette. Watson is a two-time all-conference, all district, and all-state selection.

Watson has also earned academic all-conference honors three times for his work in the classroom.

"I think that Dylan is among the top catchers in the state defensively," said Kindle. "He is a big physical catcher who is going to do good things for us, including hit really well."

Watson plans to major in physical therapy.
