LeGrand Announces Future Plans

State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners redshirt freshman guard Alonde LeGrand of Harlem, New York has decided to attend the University of Detroit Mercy, a Division I University in Detroit, Michigan. LeGrand becomes the third Roadrunner to his announce college plans.

LeGrand played in 28 games and started in 14 in his one season at SFCC. He averaged 4.3 points per game, while pulling down 2.7 rebounds per contest. He averaged 2.7 assists per game.

On Jan. 30, LeGrand scored a career-high 14 points against Metropolitan Community College, including three of four field-goal attempts and all eight of his free-throw attempts.

"Detroit is a really good academic school," said Roadrunners Basketball Head Coach Matt Brown. "The Horizon League is a pretty good. They recruited Alonde to be another skilled guard in the backcourt. The coaches at Detroit really like his size. I think with three years left, he will do really well there. Alonde wants to be a collegiate basketball coach in the future. I think he will be a great coach. He is also a very good student with over a 3.5 GPA."

LeGrand plans to major in business at the University of Detroit Mercy.
