Stone Signs with Alabama State University

State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners sophomore forward Mike Stone of Brooklyn, New York has decided to continue his academic and athletic career at Alabama State University in Montgomery, Alabama.

Stone played in 26 games (starting twice) for the Roadrunners last year. He knocked down 58.9% of his field-goal attempts while scoring 3.2 points per game. He pulled down 2.7 rebounds per game in a reserve role for the Roadrunners. Stone scored a personal season-high 10 points against Southeastern Community College on Feb. 20.

"I'm very excited for Mike," said Roadrunners Basketball Head Coach Matt Brown. "He has lost a lot of weight since he's been here. He is probably in the best shape of his life. He had a good workout and they are excited to have him. I believe that the best basketball for Mike is still ahead of him. He will bring defense, rebounding, and physicality to Alabama State. Mike is a very good person. He wants to major in elementary education."

Alabama State University is a Division I University in the Southwestern Athletic Conference.
