State Fair Community College Lady Roadrunners Head Basketball Coach Kevin Bucher has announced three additions to his latest 2019-2020 recruiting class. Brooklyn Thompson, Zaniya Crawford and Jalisa Wilson have signed National Letters of Intent and will begin in the fall.
Thompson is a 6'1'' post player from Corsicana High School in Corsicana, Texas, where she played for Head Coach Dominique Brown. Thompson averaged a double-double as a senior with 17 points and 17 rebounds per game. She also registered about two blocks per game. Thompson was a two-time All-District selection and was named her team's Offensive Player of the Year as a junior and a senior.
"Brooklyn is a very athletic post player who can run the floor," said Bucher. "She played in a large class in Texas. We are excited about having her as part of our program. She is the type of talented post player that we need to step in and play right away."
Crawford is a 5'8'' guard from Montgomery, Alabama. She played at Park Crossing High School for Head Coach Freeah Smith. Crawford averaged 14 points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals per game as a senior. She was named All-Area during her high school career and her team's Best Defensive Player.
"Zaniya is an outstanding defensive player," said Bucher. "She is one of the fastest players that we've had in our program in a while and a very good scoring guard. Her team went to state two years in a row; they won the state championship her junior year and lost in the championship game her senior year. We are very pleased that she has chosen to come to State Fair."
Wilson is a 5'9'' guard from San Antonio, Texas, who played at Sam Houston High School for Head Coach Marchae Woods. Wilson averaged 20 points, 18 rebounds and four assists per game as a senior.
"Jalisa is the type of player who can create matchup problems for other teams," said Bucher. "She can play both inside and outside, shoot the three-point shot and post up smaller guards. She can't wait to get here, and I'm excited to have her on the team."
