Rolling signs to play for UMASS Lowell

State Fair Community College Lady Roadrunners sophomore guard Ren'Cia Rolling of Chicago, Illinois, recently signed a National Letter of Intent to attend the University of Massachusetts Lowell, a Division I university. Rolling is the fourth member of the Lady Roadrunners sophomore class to announce her college plans.

Rolling, who started in 29 games her sophomore year, helped her team to a 14-17 record. She was named to the Missouri Community College Athletic Conference First-Team and led all of NJCAA Division I Women's Basketball in assists per game with 8.6. Rolling averaged 9.8 points per game and led the team in steals with 2.7.

"Ren'Cia fits exactly what the UMass Lowell team needs," said Lady Roadrunners Head Coach Kevin Bucher. "She visited the campus, liked it and is looking forward to helping them right away as a point guard. I am really excited for her."

As a freshman, Rolling averaged seven points and dished out a team-high four assists per game. She registered a team-high 1.6 steals and shot 80 percent from the free-throw line.

"Ren'Cia is one of the best point guards I've coached in my entire career," said Bucher. "She is a player who loves the game. She made a mark on our program in her two years at SFCC. I know she will do great things at the University of Massachusetts Lowell."
