Lady Roadrunners basketball signs Harris

Aniyah Harris, 2018 WBB Recruit

State Fair Community College Lady Roadrunners Head Basketball Coach Kevin Bucher has announced the addition of Aniyah Harris of Ellenwood, Georgia. She is a 5'10'' guard who played basketball for her father Lamar Harris at Dutchtown High School in Hampton, Georgia.

As a senior, Harris averaged 14 points and six rebounds per game, placing her second on the team in rebounds. She earned second team all-region honors, Defensive Player of the Year and the team's Improved Player Award during her high school career.

"Aniyah is a hard-nosed player," says Bucher. "She can shoot the three-point shot, take the ball to the basket and is athletic and possesses good size. She played on a team at a big high school that made it to the Elite Eight. She loves the game and has been around it for a long time, and we are fortunate to have her as part of our program."

Harris also earned honor roll recognition all four years in high school. She has signed a National Letter of Intent and will begin her academic and athletic career at SFCC in the fall. She plans to major in nursing.
